American Idol top four brings Cinema to the stage being mentored by Jamie Foxx.
Lee Dewyze kicks it off. Jaimie Foxx preaches confidence which you have always struggled with though every week you are getting better. This is a great song from you I love the connection and finally you are not letting the stage swallow you whole. Perhaps your best performance to date. I am thoroughly enjoying it even though it sounds like you may have some pitch points. Winning song to my ears. Randy Jackson you did nothing with that song it was okay and pitch problems at points. Ellen more could have been done with the song. Kara you had a great week last week. This is a difficult song and you got lost a little. Simon agrees with Randy verging on karaoke.
Michael Lynche is taking on Michael Jackson next with “Will you be there” Jamie is right you deserve to be there let go and let’s see it. Wow I didn’t know you could go that deep. You seem a little stiff at the begininng. As the song progress’s, and this is one f the things I love is how deep you get with the song. Your connection is astonishing. If that performance doesn’t get high marks I don’t know what will. Just watch out for that beginning. Randy Jackson didn’t love the song feels that you should have chosen an R&B song. Ellen you can’t go wrong with a choir behind you. Ellen also felt it was a bit predictable. Kara is looking for goosbumps and felt you played it safe. Simon has know idea what free Willy is. Think you could have picked a better song.
Crystal and Lee duo. Okay connection seems a bit forced and unbelievable. Great harmony and vocals. I really think the two of you should have ditched the guitars it’s just a weird performance in my mind. it’s not feeling right and not flowing for me. Neither of you have what I would consider a believable performance. Randy a great song by two great singers could be a hit. Ellen you are the new captain and oneal. Kara one of my favorite moments of the entire season. Simon would call it a fantastic song.
Casey James with “Mrs. Robinson” . Interesting opening and performance. One of ther better connections I’ve seen from you. Not my personal favorite version of the song but I do admit you are doing better than you have. Something is missing and I just can’t quite put a finger on it. Randy Jackson thought you sounded cool with it but was just okay. Ellen wish he had gotten a big boy guitar. Thought you would have gone further with it. Kara this is where you started fighting this was a good choice as it was out your comfort zone. Simon personally didn’t think the song or performance had the substance requried. Felt it was a little lazy.
Crystal Bowersox with a Kenny Logins song from the movie Caddy Shack. Vocally your back to where you need to be. One of the better performances of the night. It’s obvious your comfortable with your choice for it’s one of the few times that the stage didn’t seem to swallow you up. The only thing I would suggest is loose the guitar while it’s great in many performances it just makes you akward in some. Randy not my favorite performance nice job. Ellen thinks you made the song better. Kara agreed with Ellen and Randy. Simon you are back in the game.
Mike and Casey are joining up with a Bryan Adams romance song ‘Have you ever really loved a woman.’ Mike you really picked it up. Casey your opening seemed a bit weak. You two can pull this off come on. Great harmonies. Unfortunately it appears more like Mike is lead and Casey is backing him up. Mike your very strong and that is outstanding, Casey you need to step it up. Randy started off a bit rough but together you sounded really good. Ellen has loved a woman. Kara duets tonight were incredible better than all the solo’s. Simon thinks artist t-shirts should go to the duets.
Too close for me to call or make judgement.
