Top 7 idol performers tonight let’s see whom shines and who goes home. It’s songs of inspiration.

Casey James kicks it off wiht “Don’t Stop” by Fleetwood Mac. Like every other night he’s glued to a mic stand with 3 back up singers to the right. Good vocals but loosing the wow factor due to the lack of variation in performance. I might as well turn off the TV and just listen for your visual performance is the same every week. Good job vocally. Randy Jackson says it is a good performance but is looking for something different. Ellen great guitar playing, you are consistantly good but it wasn’t great. Kara you didn’t show us what makes you different tonight. Simon states it was a lazy song choice.

Lee Dewyze follows and I hope it’s more inspiration and more original than Casey.  Lee has chosen “The Boxer” by Simon and Garfunkle.  I’m enjoying the setup and gentle strings and the cloudy background.  You have caught my attention with your passion and emotion.  Randy  you are a great artist ready to make great music.  Ellen beautiful song choice, best performance so far.  Kara thinks you had your moment tonight with that performance.  Simon best of the night.  Difference between you and Casey is monumental.

Tim Urban with “Better Days” by the Googoo Dolls and Alisha likes it on him.  Like Lee you seam to be connecting with a good mood.  However you need to watch you pitch at the beginning as it was off by more than a little.  It just feels like it’s off through the whole song.  Other than that I respect what your putting into it.  You don’t need the guitar and I think you do better without it.  It seems like it distracts you.  Randy okay good kareoke.  Ellen didn’t like his soup today.  Kara you found your lane and are in it.  Where you belong but not your best performance.  Simon if this was your first performance we would have loved it.  You have improved but this was a bit of a let down.

Aaron Kelly wonderful mood lighting and right off the bat the emotion and connection is there and intense.  I think I’ve been looking for this performance from you for a while.  Beautiful and wonderful.  Country is your niche and it even shows here your confidence is so much better than it has been in past weeks.  You are back.  This is absolutely stunning performance.  Randy arrangement was strange and funny and you did a good job with a giant song.  Ellen big voice, tough song and you handled it real good.  Kara by the end you got there.  Simon gutsy move in the real world would have turned it off.

Siobhan Magnus singing “When you believe.”  Love the mood lighting and the outfit.  Need a spit shield for the mic.  Seems like your out of breath at every verse.  You have a great tone and sound wonderful but the gasping is kinda like watching a asthmetic having an attack.  Really good except for the excessive breaths.  Randy was just okay for me.  Ellen just more confirmation why your here.  Kara technically it was good but still do not know who you are.  Simon too old fashioned.

Michael Lynche with “Hero” which is out of his comfort zone.  I love the  acoustic guitar with you.  Great soft touch to the start of the song very enjoyable.  Grat crescendo absolutely wonderful.  I’m loveing your version of this classic.  You have come so far at the beginning of the season I didn’t think you would make it to the finale yet here you are and I must say you have come a very very long way in a short amount of time.  Absolutely stunning.  Randy held your own and it worked out.  Ellen Thought you did a great job.  Kara not favorite performance did not cut through.  Simon thought you sang it well however felt artificial.

Crystal Bowersox “People get ready”  I’m shocked no instrument.  I love the acapella beginning.  Wonderful connection and emotion perhaps the most I’ve enjoyed you to date.  Wonderful vocals and enjoyable sound.  Stage presence may be lacking a bit but wonderful performance.  Randy unbelievable.  Ellen never looked more beautiful and that was so beautiful.  Kara thank you for taking a risk.  Simon that was inspirational and happy to see you emotional.

Yeah we get to watch Brooke White and Adam Lambert.  Plus the double elimination should be a fun packed night.   Good medley for the top 9.

Casey James, Aaron Kelly, and Andrew Garcia are all asked to join Ryan Seacrest in the center of the stage.  Andrew is going home from this group.  The other two are safe.

The remaining six contents joined Ryan on the stage and after recapping last night Crystal Bowersox is the first sent back to safety followed by Siobhan Magnus.  Lee Dewyze is safe.  Bottom three is Tim Urban, Michael Lynche, and Katie Stevens.  I know I voted my fingers off for Michael and will not be a happy camper if he goes home.

Big Mike and Tim Urban are safe and going home is Katie Stevens.

Two are going home tomorrow.

Crystal Bowersox kicks off with a great up beat rhythm and song.  Absolutely wonderful great energy and believable performance.  Great sound for you.  Thoroughly enjoyable.  Randy stated it was dope and loved it.  Ellen it is fantastic.  Kara another solid performance.  Simon could relate to the lying and cheating and loved it.

Andrew Garcia with ‘Hound Dog’  Starting off seems a bit boring doesn’t seem like he listened to Adam.  I was expecting more.  All in all his performance is falling flat.  Not one of my favorite renditions.  It was a fair copy cat performance.  Randy not good karaoke.  Ellen wish it had more swagger and thought he pulled it off.  Kara felt the mic was your crutch and wanted to feel more.  Simon  thought it was lazy and unpredictable.

Tim Urban ‘Can’t help falling in love with you’ Great start and emotion.  Careful don’t lilt the whole song, never mind great change.  A side of you I’ve never seen and very enjoyable.  I’m glad you chose this song and arrangement.  You stepped up a few notches in my eyes.  Randy liked it.  Ellen reveals she love tequila and him.  Kara’s favorite Tim performance ever.  Simon very well thought out and you have managed to go from zero to hero.

Lee Dewyze with ‘A little less conversation’ great start and upbeat tone.  Good performance and standing.  Randy very good performance.  Ellen you made it sound like a brand new song.  Kara you really went for it and I loved it.   Could  be a little lighter or playful.  Simon you nailed the song it was right on the money don’t stop.

Aaron Kelly with ‘Blue Swede Shoes’  a little timid but great side of you.  Confidence is the key to pulling this performance off and you are getting there slowly.  Relax and enjoy you are great so be yourself and enjoy each performance.  Randy blues fit your voice better.  Ellen thought it was good but not all the way there.  Kara you are out of your comfort zone and I liked it.  It felt more current and young for you.  Simon thought it made you older.  It was what it was someone doing a concert at the end of high school.  It was not young and was very karaoke.

Siobhan Magnus ‘Suspicious Minds’ a little pitchy.  I love the faster pace for you it works well.  Good performance although there wasn’t much chang up until your signature scream.   Randy big vocals are back and he’s glad.  Ellen liked the second the half a lot better than the first half.  Kara getting confused and wasn’t crazy about it.  Simon you came back in 20 years time.  1st part was terrible and 2nd part didn’t hit the notes.

Michael Lynch ‘In the Ghetto’ Big Mike this is one of my favorite songs and I want you to impress me.  Excellent start and wow I can definitely feel it.  Love the acoustic guitar.  You slowed it down just enough to get the story across.  I will always love the original but this is a version I enjoy as well.  You almost made it a tad too slow at the end. Randy a little sleepy and hot vocals.  Ellen was glad they saved him.  Kara a beautiful song.  Simon terrific.

Katie Stevens with ‘Baby what do you want me to do’ great intro to the song.  Need a bit more dirty throat sound to show your frustration like Adam said.  All in all great performance.  Good attitude in the song and great connection.  Randy nice vocals I was entertained and liked it.  Ellen a very ‘horny’ song a lot of horns in it. Kara good job.  Simon found it loud and a bit annoying.  They liked it it doesn’t matter what he thinks.

Casey James good start, good vocals.  This song is right up your ally.  Don’t know if I like you on the island own the stage man you deserve it.  Great vocals and performance.  You made it  your own with a great bluesy feel.  Randy solid performance.  Ellen Not as exciting as I like but it was good.  Kara it feel short there is so much more.  Simon considered it a wasted opportunity but it was good.

Top 9 performance keeping to the Lennon McCarty sounds.  Good performance, sharp and in key.  All in all not a bad performance.  Ford Music video also seeming to fit to the theme very well however it seemed very corny.

Siobahn Magnus sang ‘Across The Universe’ , Kara was confused because it felt sleepy and the normal for her.  After the nation wide vote and is asked to go to center stage.

Crystal Bowersox sang ‘Come Together’, Judges felt solid performance and is sent to the center of the stage.

Katie Stevens sang ‘Let it be’, Ellen predicted no more bottom three and she sang for her grand mother and is asked to go to center stage.

Randy thinks all these ladies should be safe.  Crystal is announced safe.  Katie and Siobahn is pronounced safe by the master of psych out Ryan Seacrest.  We also just learned the bottom three is all guys this week.  Which ones will it be.

Two groups will be formed, starting with Lee Dewyze sent to far side of the stage.  Michael Lynche sang ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and sent to close side group.  Casey James sang ‘Jealous Guy’ and is sent to join Lee Dewyze.  Aaron Kelley sang ‘The long and winding road’ Simon is asked if Aaron has a good enough vocal to continue.  Simple answer is yes.  After the vote Aaron joins Big Mike.  Tim Urban sang ‘All My Loving’ joins Lee and Casey.  Andrew Garcia with ‘Can’t by me love’ joins Aaron and Mike.

Mike, Aaron and Andrew are the bottom three and Aaron is sent back to safety.  I hope he steps it up next week.  Andrew and Mike which one is going home.  Person safe is……Andrew.

Big Mike was saved by the judges.

Should be a good night I hope.

Aaron Kelly kicks off the night with long and winding road.  You have a great tone and maturity beyond your years but feel like something is missing.  Don’t feel it was the best song choice given the wide variety you had to choose from.  You sang it well but it was not what I was hoping for from.  Randy didn’t love the arrangement and it was too sleepy and laid still.  Ellen commented it felt like a long and winding song. Kara it works when you change up your melody your good.  Starting to feel like the same performance.  Simon wanted to know why he choose the song and the arrangement.    Wanted to keep the Beetles song the same.

Katie Stevens bringing up let it be.  I hope Katie you get my attention please.  love the solo piano with you in the beginning.  Great Voice and tone a very emotional song and I’m not feeling the potential power of the song.  I can’t say I’m enjoying your arrangement.    Tempo seemed way to slow is this the sleepy season for Idol or what.  I applaud the effort but it was too copy cat.  I felt you picked something way to safe for you.  Randy reported your best performance ever.  Ellen said picked perfect song to mix up.  Kara great vocal and wonderful confidence.  Simon tonight you got it right, it’s more country.

Andrew Garcia with can’t buy me love.  Let’s hear it and feel it.  Wake me up please.  Interesting swagger in your voice.  One of your best performances and at least I’m not falling asleep at the keys.  Great Jazz feel to it.  Randy really solid performance a little corny.  Ellen can buy love and loved the choice and song.  Kara haven’t seen anything new that I haven’t seen with it.  Simon made a corny, old fashioned and irrelevant.

Michael Lynche with Eleanor Rigby.  When you started I was worried I was going to see another slow boring performance.  I actually enjoy what you did with it.  Not bad but I’m not overtly happy.  Randy I’m lovin’ not sure all of it worked but what worked worked great.  Ellen you have so many different sides enjoyed.  Kara that was fire and your vocals were amazing.  You made the song commercial and relevant.  Simon didn’t love it as much but felt it was a musical and is not a fan of musicals.  It was what it was a bit over the top.

Crystal Bowersox with come together because of it’s fun groove.  Not sure if your strong enough for it.  I can’t hardly hear you over the band.  Don’t know if the changeups worked for me.  Drop the guitar and have fun with it.  You seemed to be struggling while you were playing.  Randy not best but solid performance.  Ellen thought the digioudu was cool.  Kara one of my favorite performances of the night.  Simon that is a performance and song I could hear on the radio.

Tim Urban with I’m loving you.  One of your better performances to date.  I think you picked the right song for you.  It may come across corny and old fashioned.  Randy much better than what you’ve had the last couple weeks.  Ellen perfect song choice for you.  Kara best performances when you have a guitar.  You did take some the critique.  Simon thought you did really well with the song, what he liked about it was there was no gimmicks.

Casey James Jealous Guy.  Slow song, another slow song.  Please for the love of what’s right make this the last one of the night.  I’m finding it as a boring performance.  Good vocals just not my style.  Great connection but I’m looking for something new and different from you.  Loved the acoustic affect with the string.  Randy loved the sensitive side really impressed.  Ellen felt real  and was your best performance to date.  Kara what you showed was vulnerability and loved it.  Simon best performance of the night.

Siobhan Magnus with Across the Universe.  I love your tone.  You almost seem like a modern day Judy Garland.  This is a side we haven’t seen and I’m glad you kicked the tenderness up a notch.  Great song pick and I’m enjoying the tune.  Such great control a few pitch problems but I’m glad you are not screeching.  I love it.  Randy was a little sleepy loved the tender side.  Ellen loved how it was different and beautiful.  Kara from a singing perspective you hit the notes and it was good.  Felt it was very restrained and polite.  Simon much much stronger and you are unpredictable.

Lee Dewyze closing the show with Hey Jude.  Knock it out guy.  Watch your pitch and you seem to be over singing it a bit.  You have had better performances.  This isn’t your best performance by far.   Randy loved the bag pipe player.  Ellen was happy to see the confidence.  Kara you are more comfortable up there some good and bad moments.  Simon felt he was doing great without the bag pipe player.
