Artist Interview CJ Rider – BTA in Fall

BTA in Fall Interview Interview Q: While this is a photograph, I love your paintings as well, which method do you prefer photography or painting? My artwork is so intertwined that I find it difficult to choose one over the other. The thing is, if I am not painting in the field or from life, I use my photos to paint from. I do love to paint and it has a high level of satisfaction, however there is also nothing like looking at a disk of photos for the first time after an outing! When you comb through them and find that one little gem of a shot (well, hopefully it’s more than one) that you know has a special “wow” factor; – well, I think we all know how great … Read entire article »

It was almost impossible for me to do this back in Russia and Belarus due to harsh laws and government regulations for private businesses. The US is a country of many possibilities and opportunities. So when I received my first big order – 7 large format mounted and framed photographs – I realized that this is … Read entire article »

1st Place Photographed Landscapes Vol 1 Issue 2

Interview Q: What were your initial studies in Atlanta? In addition to photography my interests were early childhood education and geology. Actually my range of studies was quite broad as so many subjects held such great interests for me. Q: Do you see your marked interest in Photography leading to places other than Texas in the future? Definitely! Although Texas is my favorite location ( such diversity in one state), there are obviously many more areas that capture my attention. In the future I would very much like to focus on the American Southwest. Q: What location on this vast earth would you want to shoot more than any other? I have always had a desire to visit Australia. It would be a fantastic place to photograph. Q: How long have you wanted to travel there? Since childhood. … Read entire article »
