I couldn’t help but think of a few things that makes autumn, well autumn, at least to me. That is what inspired this poem. I hope this hits home with a few others of you out there. I also hope you have a great safe autumn and holiday season.
Tis’ blissful things that autumn brings
each and every year,
like changing colors of the leaves
which make us smile and cheer.
Tis’ blissful things that autumn brings
like raking leaves every day,
The wind toying with emotions
as our work blows away.
Tis’ blissful things that autumn brings
this special time of year,
From hot to cold the weather swings
like the flu running rampant here.
Tis’ blissful things that autumn brings
soon we’ll be stringing lights,
After which we read Greek
assembling toys and bikes.
Tis’ blissful things that autumn brings
Thank god it’s once a year.

Sunny days amidst the spring,
Praying ’tis not ruined by rain.
Rallying to a fresh new sport,
Intently masking all the pain.
Never there’s been a better port,
Gracefully hiding all the shame.
Bringing out what’s held me back,
Living for what comes up next.
Owning up to what I lack,
Opting for a life less complex.
Moving towards a new beginning,
with this and every Spring Bloom.

Fascinated by things to come,
understanding things past,
time fades for all,
unjustly ticking fast,
revealing how precious
each day is.
Gauntlets land at our feet,
aimed to dethrone our lives,
zoos’ become our palace
emptying city streets.

Otters play and have fun,
underneath a warm gold sun,
taking in all that’s life.
For simplistic play,
or a hunger hunt,
rising above our evil ways.
Astoundingly peaceful in nature’s way.
Stunning in grace,
willfully full of joy,
insurmountable innocence.
making days their own place.
It’s been a while since I’ve tried to write between daily life and challenges that arise it sometimes consumes my time. I hope you enjoy this simple piece and I look forward to bringing more.
