American Idol Top 8 Guys
I’m looking for a good night tonight. The girls knocked it out last night and I know there are guys that can step up to the plate.
- Lee Dewyze – Come on i know you can do it. Good tone. You have a good energy. Don’t know if you challenged yourself enough tonight. I like the song just not having that wow effect and I think maybe some pitch issues.
- Randy: Strange song choice, some pitch problems, made it work.
- Ellen: Couple of pitch problems. Thought it was great.
- Kara: Looked confident tonight thinks you made the song a better song with your interpretation.
- Simon: Did not have a moment with that song. Glad your hear great chance to hit top 12. Think your better than your performance.
- Alex Lambert – You have your work cut out for you tonight. Last week I was not impressed with your performance. I know you have more in you and want to see that tonight or at least an improvement.
I’m not certain I like the key your singing the song in. seems a bit weird for me. Not wowing me but getting better in the middle. Just feels wrong for me. You seem to be hitting notes better. I don’t think this was your best song choice. - Randy: Good song choice, did not wow with it. Felt you could have done more with it.
- Ellen: Your becoming a mushy banana. Love the innocence don’t become a copied banana.
- Kara: Only thing in your way is yourself. Still stiff and not relaxed be you.
- Simon: Agrees, need to get mentally somewhere else, need to relax. Have a really good distinct voice. I think Randy in a bikini don’t know if America is ready for it.
- Tim Urban – I liked you for the first time last week and look forward to your continued growth. Get my toes tapping Tim.
I actually like the song choice. My gosh there is a good voice there. Pitch is good. I love the courage to sing without the band. Excellent preparation. I think you could have done a little more with it but the song itself doesn’t give much leeway. All in all great job. - Randy: Loves the song. Did a pretty good job of filling some big shoes.
- Ellen: Fantastic as she ran up to the stage.
- Kara: Thought you were going home and now think you are in it and one of the top boys.
- Simon: I feel responsible after what was said because of the confidence boost. Very very smart with the song. Not the best version but great job and strongest you have given.
- Andrew Garcia – I need to see you take a risk tonight, have a confidence boost like Tim did and just have fun.
Tall order I know you have the talent. All the guys let the band go tonight so far interesting. I think the band would have helped you. The overall was just lacking something you can’t get on your own. Good performance. I would have enjoyed some more instruments but your voice is good but just forgettable. - Randy: Interesting Choice, good idea didn’t work and pitchy.
- Ellen: Thought great song choice. Think people will like.
- Kara: You Peaked to early. Just wasn’t great.
- Simon: With Kara came over as you were trying to be a little bit desperate. Over thought it.
- Casey James - Hey I love you personality and package let’s not swallow the guitar tonight. You picked a song I love.
You definitely have the voice for it. and you haven’t had any weird mic issues. Not a wowing arrangement of the song. You changed up the rhythm but it just wasn’t as strong as I know you can be. - Randy: Safe choice son and I agree. Thinks you are more edgy and just alright.
- Ellen: Thought it was great. Feels like sitting with the guitar is your vibe.
- Kara: Kind of back better than last week. Missing that spark.
- Simon: Second best it made you sincere, not a memorable performance.
- Aaron Kelly – For you I want to see the same confidence you had last week. Have great energy and pick the right song. You have a great voice and I look forward to seeing what you have.
Great voice just too old of a song for you. Your not old enough to have kids kind of makes the performance unbelievable. You did nail the vocals. I love the passion you are bringing to it. Stunning and I’m sold. Best of the night in my eyes. A few pitch issues. Overall excellent. - Randy: Makings of a great. Job well done.
- Ellen: Felt too much song. Didn’t think that was terrific.
- Kara: Not relevant to your life.
- Simon: Kara is complete and utter rubbish. Right type of song. Not a great vocal but did have emotion.
- Todrick Hall – Looking for something solid from you. Right choice, good pitch love the falsetto. This is what I’ve been needing to see from you. You changed it up a tad without going overboard. This is a good rendition that works for you. I feel lacking a tad in the emotional connection but much better than last week well done.
- Randy: Todrick is back. What you did is prove you could sing. One of the best male vocals all night.
- Ellen: Brave man you made it great. Feels it could have stayed a little more committed to gospel
- Kara: Really good singing. So dramatic almost like glee.
- Simon: Good in parts, not the whole way through. You are a Broadway singer. Song may have saved you.
- Michael Lynche – Tonight’s the night Big Mike let it shine. Rough start. I love your emotion not certain if the song is doing you much justice. I’m enjoying the last bit of the performance. Your falsetto is just not working tonight. I feel let down I know you can do better.
- Randy: Crazy, It was hot.
- Ellen: One of favorite songs and so beautiful you are the one to beat.
- Kara: Cried it’s amazing.
- Simon: It’s what was needed tonight. 100% nailed it not best of night, best in history of Idol.
Based on what I saw tonight alone I personally think two going home are from this list: Lee, Alex, Andrew, or Casey.
